The AEA members present at October's General Membership meeting voted overwhelmingly to pass the new AEA Constitution and Bylaws, which are linked below. Thank you to everyone who attended and made their voice heard!
During the meeting some proposed changes to the bylaws were put forward, and are currently being evaluated. If they are deemed feasible, they will be voted on for inclusion at a later date. Those proposed changes are:
Dividing the role of Secondary Contract Specialist into Contract Specialist: Middle School and Contract Specialist: High School
Investigating options to make it easier for secondary teachers to participate in AEA meetings and voting, due to being first in the district's staggered release times.
More information will be sent out in the future!
The AEA is looking for members interested in the role of Public Relations Specialist. This person would help get the word out about AEA events, and help coordinate the public-facing side of the union. If you are interested, reach out to your building rep.
